Amazon Kindle free ebook lending library launched

Do you like to while away a few hours buried in a good read, perhaps you have jumped into the digital reading game by purchasing the Amazon Kindle or will be getting the Amazon Kindle Fire to fulfil your digital rearing requirements. Well if so Amazon has now launched an added incentive to pick up a Kindle.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo, Amazon has now launched the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library, which enables Amazon Prime membership owners to borrow books for free and chose from thousands of digital reading.

The Amazon Kindle Owner’s Lending Library includes 100 former and current New York Times bestsellers, and can borrow a book a month without incurring any due dates.

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos says, “Owning a Kindle just got even better. Today, we’re introducing a new Prime benefit built for Kindle: The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. Prime Members now have exclusive access to a huge library of books to read on any Kindle device at no additional cost and with no due dates.”

Apparently no other ebook store or e-reader offers this book lending service, and the Amazon Kindle Owner’s Lending Library is in addition to the multitude of streaming TV shows and movies without extra cost.

The new Kindle Owner’s Lending Library offers such reading matter as Susanne Collins The Hunger Games Trilogy, Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential, Michael Lewis’s Liar’s Poker, and Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants.

The VP of Kindle content, Russ Grandinetti said, “The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library is a great new benefit for Kindle owners and an entirely new growth opportunity for authors and publishers.”
