Phones Review Quickie: For all you Android faithful over in the great white space of Canada who are faithful to Rogers and Telus, you need not fear that you will be left out when it comes to the first smartphone to come out to play sporting the Google guy’s latest and greatest Android operating system, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
As according to an article over on Unwired View, by way of Mobile Syrup, Telus will offer the Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone sometime in January, while Rogers has used their Twitter account to also announce the Samsung Galaxy nexus will be coming to their network in January.
Furthermore Rogers is taking reservations for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus via their registration system as of tomorrow.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will apparently be offered exclusively by both Bell and Virgin in Canada in December, but it would appear that exclusivity only extends for a month, while Verizon is expected to hold exclusivity over the Galaxy nexus in the states and launching in December as well.
For those that may have been living in a cave for the past several months, the Galaxy Nexus offers a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD touch screen, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1080p video, NFC, Face Unlock, Google+ app, 4G LTE and HSPA+ connectivity, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, 3.5mm jack and 16GB or 32GB internal storage.
So there you have it, both Rogers and Telus will join the ranks of offering the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus at some point in January, and obviously no word on any pricing at the moment.
