Those Android faithful over here in the United Kingdom are somewhat lucky as they know that sometime soon even if not on the expected date of tomorrow the 17th of November, the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will release, however over in the good old US of A there’s still no official word on just when the Galaxy Nexus will arrive.
However according to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Wireless Goodness, the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Verizon is a little closer as the Android smartphone has now hit the FCC.
The Galaxy Nexus making its way through the Federal Communications Commission can mean just one thing and that is when the smartphone gains FCC approval its release on the Big Red won’t be too far behind.
Furthermore as my colleague Mark reported earlier, as Samsung Galaxy Nexus accessories are beginning to turn up this should also intimate that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich super phone should become available stateside before too long.
The Galaxy Nexus has the Samsung model number SCH-i515 with the FCC filings pointing towards approval for dual band Wireless N WiFi along with Bluetooth, NFC and of course the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or Verizon Nexus Prime whichever it comes out as in the US will play nice on the Big Red’s 4G LTE network.
So there you have it, for those over in the states, it can’t be that much longer before you can snap up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from Verizon, will you be purchasing the smartphone as soon as the Big Red make it available?
