Galaxy S III quad core speculation
We have just been given the latest Samsung smartphone with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and the Samsung Galaxy S II hasn’t been out all that long but the rumours are turning towards the next in the line of Galaxy smartphones namely the Samsung Galaxy S III, which has been tipped to be a quad core handset.
According to an article over on Ubergizmo by way of the guys over at Pocket Now, the Samsung Galaxy S III just might come out to play packing the Samsung Exynos 4412, a 32nm quad core chip although still an ARM Cortex A9 1.5GHz chip but with four cores.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to make its debut in February during Mobile World Congress 2012 and it is speculated the handset will also have an ARM Mali-T604 GPU that is said to deliver five times the performance over previous Mali graphics processors and scalable up to four cores.
Apparently evidence of the new Exynos 4412 chip was spotted on the Linux Kernel archives and the word is old Sammy is currently testing the chip.
Obviously the smartphone space is racing towards quad core handsets more and more and old Samsung doesn’t wish to be playing catch up with rivals when it comes to their Galaxy line of devices so delivering a quad core Samsung Galaxy S III would seem the most logical step don’t you agree?
Anyway, more on the Samsung Galaxy S III as and when more information becomes available, but along with that Exynos 4412 quad core chip one would expect the Galaxy S III to also come out to play packing Android Ice Cream Sandwich of course.
