The HTC HD2 smartphone has been around for quite a while now so is quite an old device, but one thing with the HTC HD2 is that is seems to be a hackers playground for porting other operating systems as we’ve already see the handset get ported with Windows Phone 7, Meego and even Android, and now as evidenced in the video we have for your viewing pleasure below, Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Ice Cream Sandwich on the HTC HD2 video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Ubergizmo and by way of YouTube user 96edwysMobile, and demonstrates a beta release of an Android 4.0 ROM running on the aforementioned handset
Obviously some of the features in Android Ice Cream Sandwich still aren’t working but when you consider just how quick the guys have managed to come up with the port it’s still impressive albeit lacking such things as hardware acceleration, the camera, USB mass storage and the like.
One of course one mustn’t forget that the HTC HD2 is roughly a two-year old smartphone, however if you do still own a HTC HD2 and would like to try our the Android Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on your device you can do so by hitting up XDA-developers Forum and downloading the necessary.
That’s it, I’ll leave it right there and let you head on down to hit that play button and check out ICS on the HTC HD2, and if you do grab the ROM feel free to let us know how you get on by posting to our comments area below…enjoy.
