Well now it appears that Verizon just might be gearing up to deliver not one but two new Android smartphones ready for Christmas, as we have already heard, the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich toting Samsung Galaxy Nexus is expected to hit come December the 8th, and now the word is the Motorola Droid 4 will share the same release date.
According to the guys over at Droid-life one of their unnamed “friends” that came up with a Big Red internal document that shows the launch date for the Motorola Droid 4 is the 8th of December, a date that rumour has it the Galaxy Nexus will also arrive in the US of A.
Images of the Motorola Droid 4 hit the net waves some time ago and now the guys have also come up with a few juicy specs for the Droid 4, which include a 4-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display, RAZR styling, 4G LTE, a 5-row illuminated keyboard, a presumed 8 megapixel rear facing camera, front facing camera, 1080p video, MotoACTV sync, HDMI out, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, and the possibility of a non-removable battery.
So there you have it, there is a possibility both Android smartphone will release on Verizon on the very same day although of course that hasn’t been confirmed and thus should for the time being be treated as purely a rumour.
I figure the big question here is, if the Droid 4 does release on the exact same day as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which device will customers be tempted by the most, will that Ice Cream Sandwich win over that Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread when push comes to shove?
