If you are in the United Kingdom and have a hankering for the first Nokia Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 800, but simply hate having to go the contract route and prefer to have the smartphone unlocked, it was expected that the unlocked Lumia 800 would be available early January; however it is arriving earlier than expected.

According to the guys over at Slash Gear, the guys at the Clove now state that the unlocked Nokia Lumia 800 will be available to purchase for £329 plus VAT, roughly $575 as of the 1sy of December, so a week Tuesday.

Thus if you have been hanging on to snap up the unlocked version of the Nokia Lumia 800 you wont has as long to wait as you first though.

On another note, according to the guys over at WMPoweruser it appears that the Windows Phone is becoming a more must have device than Android handset on Vodafone UK and only second to the iPhone 4S on the carrier.

And apparently pre-orders for the cyan Nokia Lumia 800 with Vodafone are selling better than the likes of the white iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Sensation and the popular BlackBerry Bold 9900.

Thus it would seem that at least in the UK the Nokia Lumia 800 on contract is proving to be a very popular device albeit no actual sales figures have been release. Are you waiting to pick up the cyan Lumia 800 or the unlocked version of the smartphone?
