When Apple delivered the next generation iPhone there was a bit of grumpiness due to Apple not delivering the full on iPhone 5, and that some were disappointed with only getting the iPhone 4S, but that hasn’t stopped the iPhone 4S from becoming yet another Apple success, and apparently the iOS faithful wanted the iPhone 4S so much quite a few broke their contract to get one.
According to an article over on iDownload Blog by way of Bloomberg, Consumer Intelligence Research Partners surveyed some 4600 users of the iPhone 4S across US carriers Verizon, Sprint and AT&T asking how they got the new Apple smartphone.
According to the survey figures some 45 percent of those polled broke their contract with their wireless carrier and paid the ETF to get their hands on the iPhone 4S with a staggering 77 percent of those handing over in excess of 100-bucks in early termination fees.
Also the majority, some 71 percent upgraded from an earlier version of the iPhone whiles just 18 percent defected from Android or other smartphone to pick up the iPhone 4S. Oh and apparently women purchase the white iPhone more than guys.
Thus it would seem that even though Apple failed the iOS faithful in delivering the iPhone 5 Apple still manages to command a loyal fan base that are prepared to break their contract simply to get the latest Apple gadget.
So we’d like to hear from our iOS readership whether or not you broke your contract to get hold of the iPhone 4S so feel free to share to our comments area below.
