If Apple thinks they have something to worry about from the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 then this latest rumour might give the fruity company even more worries, because the rumour is old Sammy is gearing up to challenge the Apple iPad 3 with a new larger tablet of their own that will run the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear by way of the Boy Genius Report, the word is Samsung will deliver a new 11.6-inch slate with a thinner bezel than that on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and with a display pixel resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Furthermore the new Samsung Android 4.0 tablet is said to be powered by an Exynos 5250 2GHz dual core processor, and apparently the Samsung CPU which is a dual core A15 chip is said to be quite similar to Apple’s A6 CPU.
Word also has it that Samsung’s new slate will play along with Android Beam for easy syncing to other devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus along with a wireless docking mode for HDTV gaming.
And that’s about all that is known on Sammy’s Apple iPad 3 challenger apart from the device might make it’s debut during Mobile World Congress 2012 in February, the same month it is rumoured Apple will unveil the next generation iPad.
We will of course pass any new info along on this new Samsung Android tablet as and when it becomes available, so do you think this latest slate from the Samsung camp could challenge the Apple iPad 3?
