It appears that Samsung isn’t the only gadget maker out there that has decided that a smartphone/tablet hybrid is a good idea. Samsung has the 5.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note, and now China has gained a new 5-inch smartphone come mini tablet in the form of the Lenovo LePad 2005S Android phone come mini slate.
According to the guys over at Tech Crunch by way of Gizchina, the Lenovo LePad 2005S Android Phablet is now available across China via the company’s stores along with its online Taobao store and commands a price tag of 2699 Yuan, approximately 415 US bucks.
Spec wise, for their cash customers can expect a 5-inch LTPS touch screen along with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, Bluetooth, WCDMA, HSPA+, GPS, micro SIM, micro USB and micro HDMI ports.
There’s no mention of a stylus with the Lenovo LePad 2005S like the Samsung Galaxy Note offers, and of course there’s no word on whether the LePad 2005S will get updated to the latest OS Android Ice Cream Sandwich but no doubt it will at some point in the game.
And of course there’s also no word on whether the phone come mini tablet will ever see the light of day outside China.
