Jailbreaking news has been a hot topic recently, as iOS top hacker pod2g updates his progress on untethering a third-gen iPod touch. A demo unit has been seen running the latest iOS software, and now there are confirmations of iPhone 4 compatibility along with others.
As idownload blog reports, pod2g added to his blog today that he had iOS 5.0.1 untethering codes completed for iPad 1, iPhone 3GS and iPod 4G. All were set for testing tomorrow with the Apple TV jailbreak testing set for a couple of days.
If all the testing goes well then the jailbreak will cover every variation of A4 devices, which will please a lot of users. As yet there is no confirmation that the same coding will work with A5 devices such as iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, but we are sure that these will follow in time.
With hackers like pod2g working hard to access areas of our devices that would otherwise be untouched, do you think that being able to run the latest software on any device will affect sales of new units in the future?
