You may have heard that Verizon has finally got round to releasing the Samsung Galaxy Nexus today after a considerable wait, and the word is not long after you activate you shiny new Android Ice Cream Sandwich Verizon Galaxy Nexus handset you should receive an ICS update, which you have to admit is quite quick considering this is Verizon.
Anyway according to the guys over at Droid-life, they have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus demo unit and have already received the Android ICS 4.0.2 update on the device, and have also heard from numerous sources that they too have received the update.
Apparently the build number is ICL53F and is newer that the GSM model which is Android 4.0.1 build number ITL41F.
Word is there probably isn’t a great deal of cosmetic difference between Android 4.0.1 and the new Android 4.0.2 update, but apparently the guy’s unnamed sources say that the radio/baseband has moved from EK01 to EK05 which could mean better call quality and connectivity.
So, we’d like to ask any of our Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners out there if you have received the Android ICS 4.0.2 update yet, if so feel free to let us know by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
