Well now, there are many iPhone docks out there to play your music, mostly all have electronic tech to amplify your tunes, but this one doesn’t actually have any electronic tech to boost your music but rather relies on acoustics emanating from a rather twisted trumpet and is called the Trumstand for iPhone.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear, the Trumstand comes in two models, a gold plated Trumstand or a sterling silver version, both enabling you to slide your iPhone into the housing and the curved trumpet picks up the music from the iPhone speaker and amplifies.
To put it simply, the Trumstand looks a little like an old style gramophone with it large curved trumpet similar to that of His Masters Voice where the dog is looking down the trumpet.
Apparently the ‘S’ curve design in the trumpet is supposed to increase bass output and mixes the retro with the modern tech of the iOS smartphone.
As for how much the Trumstand costs, well that’s no known at the moment, as this iPhone dock is manufactured by a Japanese company called Pleiades, and no word on where the dock will see the outside of Japan.
It’s not too clear just how good the sound is when played through the Trumstand, but take a look and feel free to let us know if you would love to have one of these standing on the sideboard in your home by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
