When it comes to sport over in the United States probably the most popular event has to be the annual NFL Super Bowl with apparently last year’s Super Bowl pulling in a massive 100 million viewers, and now the upcoming championship will for the first time be streamed online and to mobile devices.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear by way of NBC Sports, the NFL and NBC have announced their intention to stream the Super Bowl online and to mobile phones for the first time and furthermore they will stream NBC’s broadcasts of wild card Saturday.
Both the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl will be available through the network’s and league’s websites and via the Verizon NFL application, and word has it will give users access to exclusive camera angles, live updates sports stats and game highlights.
Unfortunately though it wasn’t mentioned in the announcement just which Verizon devices will be able to access the stream, but it is likely that if you currently can view NBC football games on your device you should be able to take advantage of the Super Bowl stream.
NFL senior vice president of media strategy and development, Hans Schroeder said, “We are pleased to work with our partners NBC and Verizon to bring our fans more ways to watch their favourite sport during their favourite time of the year.”
