Steve Jobs action figure brings Apple legal threat
Yesterday we let the iOS faithful out there know that there was a Steve Jobs action figure going up for sale by Chinese firm Inicons so that those that wish to have a replica of their iPhone hero gracing their mantelpiece they could do so. Now today we bring word that Apple isn’t too pleased with the Steve Jobs action figure.
According to an article over on The Next Web by way of The Telegraph, the 12-inch replica of the late Apple chief including trademark turtleneck sweater, round glasses and sneakers has annoyed Apple and the company has threatened legal action unless the Steve Jobs action figure is pulled from sale.
Apparently the dispute is over the likeness of the action figure to Steve Jobs as apparently Apple hold the rights to that and Apple sent a letter to the doll maker stating that “any toy that resembles the technology company’s logo, person’s name, appearance or likeness of its products is a criminal offence.”
So it would appear that Apple is prepared to take legal steps in order to halt the sales of the Steve Jobs action figure, so if you really want one you’ll need to get a move on and you can pick one up right now from eBay although the doll will cost you a little more than the normal $99 as the price is now $135.
So will any of our iOS faithful readers out there be snapping up the Steve Jobs action figure while they can?
