During CES 2012 AT&T has added a new Android smartphone to their stable in the form of a new HD version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, and aptly named so no one can get confused, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD unsurprisingly.
According to the guys over at Engadget, the new Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD comes sporting a 4.6-inch HD Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 resolution touch screen, removable battery, plays nice of AT&T’s 4G LTE network and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor.
Other specs include an 8 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, 2 megapixel front facing camera, 720p and 1080p video, A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and of course 4G LTE connectivity.
Size wise the word is the Galaxy Skyrocket HD is a sliver of a handset coming in at just 9.27mm thick, however although the Galaxy Skyrocket HD is an Android Gingerbread device there’s no word on when it will see an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Unfortunately when it comes to a price tag of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD for the moment AT&T are keeping that little bit of info to themselves, but have said the Android smartphone will hit the market in “the coming months.”
So there it is, are you a fan of the original Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and will you be upgrading to the HD version once it comes out to play?
