Yesterday we let you know about the Emporia Click, and today we get to hear about another mobile phone Emporia Telecom showed off at CES 2012 in the form of their Emporia SOLID Plus handset, again a device targeted towards the basic phone lovers out there rather than the smartphone aficionado.
According to the guys over at Engadget, the Emporia SOLID Plus handset is a rugged device and one of the first mobile phones the company is bringing overseas in early Spring, is a candy-bar form factor and is IP67 certified.
The mobile phone has been designed with big buttons so it can even be used when wearing a utility glove, and does just about what one would expect from a very simple and basic handset such as making calls and sending off texts.
The Emporia SOLID plus phone is waterproof and also has a flashlight at the top, and a “call for care” button on its rear, which if you get in a spot of both and hold the button down for 3-seconds the handset will call your 5 designated contacts.
The handset will come out as an unlocked GSM device but at the moment there is no word on just what the Emporia SOLID plus phone will cost.
And just so you can see what the Emporia SOLID plus phone is all about we have a little hands-on video courtesy of Crunch Techie for your viewing pleasure below so head on down and mash that play button to check out this basic phone…enjoy.
