HTC EVO 3D 2.17.651.5 update: security enhancements
On the 13th January, here at Phones Review we gave you news that HTC’s EVO 3D smartphone was to enjoy a new software update. Unfortunately although the new update would not consist of Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich OS, it would benefit the handset in many ways, mainly that of enhancements to its security.
US carrier Sprint according to theandroidsoul.com has already started to bring out the new firmware update to the HTC EVO 3D which falls in line with the news we gave you last week. Although the update was accessible manually for users, we also informed you that notification would be sent to the handset direct from January 17th.
The new update 2.17.651.5 from Sprint as we’ve said is designed to bring security enhancements as well as other added benefits. Users on Sprint forums have been keen to state that battery life performance has been upped and is more than impressive.
Let us know if you have seen improvement from the new firmware update?

I updated mine and my wife’s as soon as it was available. Â I have to say there are no noticeable differences in speed or battery life. Â Everything seems to be as it was before… which was always acceptable in my honest opinion.
Can’t wait for ICS! Â
Just curious…why can’t you wait for ICS? What does your phone NOT do now?
It does NOT have ICS on it… Thats what it doesn’t have.. Its pretty self explanatory.Â
Supposed to have lower shutter lag on the camera which means less blurry photos. Â

Why did they bother putting this out if ICS is coming out in a matter of months?
My battery life seems to be doing worse sense the update.
