BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS 2.0 Beta, register details
If you have read the BlackBerry roadmap article I recently posted you’ll know that Research In Motion is expected to release the BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 OS at the end of February, and if you happen to be a BlackBerry developer that would like to test your apps on the BlackBerry tablet 2.0 OS beta you might like to know you can now register to do so.
Thus if you hit up Bdsc, you can enter your eight digit pin along with your email address although the email is optional, you can install the OS 2.0.0.7111 Beta update onto your tablet within 24-hours.
Apparently apps can include Android apps packaged for the BlackBerry slate, apps created using the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK and BlackBerry WebWorks apps, and the BlackBerry Tablet OS 2 Beta is only available as a developer-only beta.
The BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS 2.0 Beta contains runtimes…Runtime for Android apps, Native API 2.0, WebWorks and Adobe Air 3.0 and does not contain end user features like video store, calendar contacts, email and such.
To locate the Pin on your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, in the status bar tap the top right corner, in the “About tab” in “view information about your tablet” drop down list select “hardware,” and the eight digit Pin should be shown, but you already knew that didn’t you.
Anyway that’s the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS 2.0 Beta how to register details, so if you are a BlackBerry developer you can now get to testing those PlayBook apps.
