The latest word on the popular photo sharing service Instagram, and one of the most popular apps for the iPhone, is that apparently an Instagram app for Windows Phone 7 could possibly be finished and ready to go before the app can arrival on the Android platform according to sources that spoke to Fast Company.
According to the guys over at The Next Web, Instagram has a team developing an app for Android, and it was presumed that the Android platform would be the next in line; however there is a rumour that Microsoft could well come before Android.
Apparently the word is Instagram is interested in Windows Phone 7 due to the performance of the mobile operating system on high-end handsets that offer a quality user experience.
However the CEO and co-founder of Instagram, Kevin Systrom remains mum on the matter of possibly going with Windows Phone first and emailed Fast Company saying, “Other than having pre-announced Android, we don’t comment on roadmap stuff.”
Apparently the Windows Phone Team was just as vague and says that the right time to support the platform varies by business model and application and Microsoft doesn’t comment of speculation or rumour.
So will Instagram release on Windows Phone 7 ahead of Android, well it appears for now Instagram nor Microsoft are prepared to confirm that either way, but really would it make any difference to the Android faithful if Windows Phone 7 got the app first, after all we do know it is heading for Android at some point.
