Android 4.0.4 update for Verizon Galaxy Nexus available
If you don’t mind tinkering with your Android Ice Cream Sandwich Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, you might like to know that an unofficial Android 4.0.4 update has now become available to download and install on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus, for the Verizon smartphone and delivers a bunch of improvements and fixes.
According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Smartkeitai, the Android 4.0.4 unofficial changelog says the update makes the Galaxy Nexus noticeably faster, improves signal strength, fixes the battery stats bug, 3G and 4G switching is much faster, and multitouch problems seem to have been fixed.
Other improvements and fixes include, a faster boot up time, a new Power Menu, auto-brightness function now smoother, auto-rotate is now faster, recent apps list opens faster, miscellaneous camera UI changes, increased volume, keyboard fixes and more.
Of course the Android 4.0.4 unofficial update is for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus only so don’t try flashing it onto your GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus otherwise you might end up bricking your handset.
So for those that own the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and wish to give this unofficial Android 4.0.4 update a whirl, you can download all the necessary by heading on over to XDA-developers, and feel free to let us know if all goes well or if you experience any issues.
