If you’re thinking of purchasing the Motorola Droid 4 handset, then you will be pleased to learn that the device is now ready for rooting. On the proviso that you possess a Windows PC, the handset can just be plugged in, with the ability to download the file, unzip and then benefit from root access.
Advice is to remember to tick onto the USB debugging mode. After extracting the entire zip file as vulnfactory.org reported, execute “run.bat”. Thanks to Dan Rosenberg who was happy to work on the rooted handset, was reported to earn himself $200 to buy himself a new Droid 4, whilst the rest of the money would be donated to the charity of the American Red Cross.
We have to say its pretty impressive going for a Windows root this early on, when you consider the Droid 4 only officially released yesterday. Nowadays with users showing an interest, many smartphones can now be rooted providing them with the benefit of having a handset that isn’t locked.
Rooting devices of course can void your warranty and/or insurance and there is the chance of bricking your device. Advice is to tread carefully and bear in mind the possibilities if it goes wrong.
