Well now for the Samsung fan out there that likes their mobile phone on the small side, it appears there is a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Mini on its way from the Samsung camp aptly named of course the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 S6500, a device which also spots the codename Jena, and is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone.
According to the guys over at GSMArena they were sent an image of the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 that delivers a few specification for the low-end smartphone, and says the Galaxy Min 2 sits neatly in between the Samsung Galaxy Ace and Samsung Galaxy Y.
So what about those specs? Well apparently the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 or Jena if you prefer, offers a 3.3-inch HVGA touch screen along with an 800Mhz processor, a 3 megapixel camera, 3GB internal storage, ChatON and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps.
Design wise the Android Gingerbread handset features rounded corners along with looking a little like the Samsung Galaxy S thanks to the raised hump on the lower rear, but looks a little old school to me, which seems to show that old Sammy isn’t really going out of their way in the “look at me” design department.
However apparently the word is the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is scheduled to arrive in “February 2012,” so perhaps Sammy will be touting the small Android handset at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona later in the month.
Are you a lover of small smartphones, and if so do you find the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 appealing or is it just too low-end to be of interest?
