HTC Ville to get new moniker for release

It appears that old HTC isn’t too happy with what they have been naming their upcoming smartphones, as word is HTC has decided to change the name of the device formally known as the HTC Endeavor to the HTC One X once the Android handset becomes available, but apparently HTC isn’t stopping with the renaming of the Endeavor.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Slash Gear that along with the renaming of the HTC Endeavor, HTC has decided to also rename the HTC Ville, and as such the Ville will be known henceforth as the HTC One S and will be launched during Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona.

Apparently though only the moniker will be changed so the HTC One S will still come with the same specifications such as a 4.3-inch qHD touch screen along with a 1.5Ghz dual core processor, an 8 megapixel camera, HTC Sense 4.0, Beats Audio and Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS of course.

However, there has been no confirmation as to whether these new names will become official although apparently an HTC subcontractor has reserved the Danish URL htc-one-x.dk, which is presumed to be used as a microsite.

So there you have it if true the Endeavor will become the HTC One X whilst the Ville will become the HTC One S, although this isn’t the first time the Endeavor has seen a name change as the device was originally known as the HTC Edge.

So what do our readers thing about this renaming of HTC upcoming handsets, do you like the One X and One S monikers or o you think HTC should have stuck with the original names?
