Gigabyte GSmart G1355 needs ICS or Jelly Bean not Gingerbread

Sorry for the long title, but this needed to catch your eye. We are all up for new Android smartphones being released, and we actually get excited when a new phone makes itself onto the upcoming 2012 list. Well, not this time when it comes to the new Gigabyte GSmart G1355, ok for those in business or not into super duper specs.

Where we are a little disappointed is trivial, but come on “Android 2.3 Gingerbread”, there is Ice Cream Sandwich, then there is the new Android Jelly Bean OS releasing soon, surely they could of implemented operating systems? In our minds it clearly means that the new GSmart G1355 phone cannot handle such power.

Anyway, the guys over at GSMarena have come up with the specifications for the Gigabyte GSmart G1355 and they are, a 4.3-inch WVGA touch screen along with a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, 512MB of RAM and microSD expansion.

The Gigabyte GSmart G1355 apparently runs a rather outdated Qualcomm MSM7227T 800Mhz processor along with an Adreno 200 GPU and WiFi, but does come with two SIM card slots, is 11.5mm in thickness and weighs a rather chunky 170 grams.

Those unimpressive specifications are fairly close to the ZTE Smart but with the addition of that extra SIM slot, and that’s about it. The Gigabyte GSmart G1355 might surface during Mobile World Congress 2012 as the Android device is expected to launch at the end of the month, but of course there’s no word on what the handset will cost.
