Barnes & Noble Nook 8GB tablet coming tomorrow via Walmart
Thus far the Amazon Kindle Fire has had it all its own way in the lower priced tablet arena, however the Kindle Fire might just be about to have a challenger knocking at its door as word is the Barnes & Noble Nook 8GB tablet is set to hit the tablet space as of tomorrow the 22nd of February via Walmart.
According to the guys over at The Verge they have come across documentation (image below) that shows the B&N Nook 8GB tablet is set for release on that date and that Walmart is planning on launching the Android based Nook tablet as 12:01AM on Wednesday.
Spec wise the Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet sports a 7-inch VividView touch screen, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, has a 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual core processor, 3.5mm jack, microSD expansion slot, Adobe Flash Player, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and measures 8.1 x 5.0 x 0.48 inches and weighs in at 14.1 ounces.
The guys say that the Barnes & Noble Nook 8GB tablet appears to be the same Android tablet as the company’s current $249 slate but with less onboard storage which will match that of the Amazon Kindle Fire 8GB, and will hopefully command a corresponding lower price tag.
However just what price tag Barnes & Noble have in store for the 8GB Nook tablet isn’t known at the moment, but as Walmart is putting the Android slate up for purchase tomorrow we should find out then, will you be picking up the B&N 8GB Nook Tablet from Walmart?
