We’ve been bringing you plenty of news about the HTC Ville, now to be named the HTC One S and the HTC Endeavor, now to be named the HTC One X. The Endeavor was also previously known as the HTC Edge, just to confuse matters further. Today we have news of press images and specs that have been leaked, purported to be of the HTC One S and One X and some of the specs seem to be different to what we were expecting.
We have heard of previous leaked images of these phones but these are the most convincing images yet and appear to have come from an Italian online retailer that has been a little premature in posting details. Not only are there clear press images but listings for the HTC Ville and HTC Endeavor with pricing and full specifications. However of course this is not official and we do wonder about the authenticity as specs for the HTC Ville in particular, appear to be quite different to those previously rumored.
According to The Verge, this latest leak now suggests that the HTC Ville (One S) will have a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 4.7inch display (resolution 540×960!) and 16GB of storage, specs that are not as great as we previously thought. Prior to this the specs we were anticipating included a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display so the screen is different in this latest leak, in both size and resolution along with a lesser processor. The price listed is €599.90.
Meanwhile the HTC Endeavor (One X) details are given as a 1GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 4.7-inch display (resolution 1280×720), 32GB of storage expandable with microSD card, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. This time the information tallies very closely with rumored specs we have previously given readers. The price of the Endeavor is listed at €699.90.
You may also be interested in this Droid-Life article which carries images of these two smartphones in the wild and specs very much as we originally expected for the HTC Ville. It does seem rather strange that the specs for at least one of these handsets is so different to those widely reported so for now it’s take it with a pinch of salt time. We expect these two smartphones to be officially unveiled at MWC this coming week and so hope we’ll be able to verify specs then.
Have you been waiting for either of these handsets to be released? If you were waiting for the Ville (One S) would you be disappointed if the specs were according to the online retailer as reported above? Why not let us know.
