The jailbreaking community has been in the news a lot in recent days since Apple released iOS 5.1, as users have been advised not to upgrade to the latest version of software if they want to jailbreak their hardware. Last September in London saw the first jailbreaking convention, and now the same people responsible have announced another event along with those who will be attending JailbreakCon 2012.
It is being reported on iDownloadBlog that this year’s event that will see a number of iOS hackers and developers, will be taking place on the 29th of September in San Francisco, California.
The 2012 WWJC event may be six months away, but a number of leading hackers and developers have already said they will be attending the show.
These include the likes of iOS and ex Chroinc Dev Team member Jay Walker, founder and creator of Cydia Saurik, Chronic Dev Team members P0sixninja and iOPK, graphic designer and jailbreak themer Austin Bradley, and iH8Sn0w, iOS hacker and creator of jailbreaking tools like Sn0wBreeze and iFaith.
Other people penciled in to attend are NitoTV who his better known for working on an Apple TV jailbreak, developer of jailbreak app iFile for iPhone Carsten Heinelt, designer behind CallBar Josh Tucker, developer of jailbreak tweaks like Barrel and Multifl0w AaronAsh, and iOS hacker and creator of jailbreaking tools like Sn0wBreeze and iFaith iH8Sn0w.
These people will either take hands-on workshops or will make speeches at the event, currently there is no pricing or availability for tickets to the advent, but if you haven’t been into jailbreaking for too long there is still a chance you will recognize some of the names already down to attend.
