We have been hearing rumours concerning a Nokia tablet for quite a while now, with recent rumour that Nokia had partnered with Microsoft with a view to delivering a Nokia Windows 8 slate at some point in the future, and now it appears that the possibility of a Nokia tablet has now been confirmed and will eventually arrive.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear by way of Reuters, Marko Ahtisaari, Nokia’s design chief has apparently confirmed that Nokia is indeed working on a tablet of some description and apparently the executive is spend a third of his time on the slate.
However no further information on the Nokia tablet was divulged; however according to the Slash Gear guys, supply chain sources say that Nokia will use Microsoft’s Windows-on-Arm platform whilst it is suggested that the slate will sport a 10-inch touch screen along with a Qualcomm dual core chipset.
As previously reported, the word is Nokia is looking at an initial batch of the tablet to be in the region of 200,000 Windows slates.
Apparently a Nokia spokesperson has stated that Nokia continues “to eye” the tablet space but have thus far made no specific announcements, which we all know to be true.
However it does seem that Nokia has now confirmed that they will be delivering a Nokia tablet, most probably with Windows 8 at some point presumably this year, so if a Nokia Windows 8 tablet does surface will you be interested in snapping it up?
