All the news in the tablet PC market at the moment has surrounded the new iPad just being released by Apple, but not everyone either wants or can afford an Apple tablet so luckily there are a number of other great devices available for consumers to choose from. Today we have news of the Archos G10 XS slim tablet that has Google certification.
The French manufacturer is set to offer a new range of tablets this year, and according to a report on liliputing the range will include a really thin model that measures only 7.6mm thick. It will also feature a keyboard docking station similar to what is seen with the Asus Transformer and Transformer Prime.
In 2011 the company split its Android tablet PCs into two camps, with the Arnova line being a budget range, and are seen by many as the best budget tablets available. The company also has the Archos 80 and Archos 101 G9 that were the first from the company to feature dual core processors and Google certification, which is needed to get Google Play on the device.
The company’s fortunes have grown with revenues seemingly doubling from 2010 to 2011, and for 2012 it will offer consumers three ranges of tablets. Bottom of the pile is the Arnova range that will cost between €50 and €150, and the Archos Elements are mid range devices costing between €100 and €200. While its premium line will be the Archos G10 xs performance tablets that will be priced at between €200 and €400, and will include the 7.6mm device already mentioned.
Both the Archos G10 and Archos Elements tablets will have Google certification so will come with the Google Play Store along with a number of built-in apps such as Google Maps and Gmail. Currently there is no information available when the new tablets will hit stores, but it looks they will be available in Europe and the US.
