Many of you will already be aware of a classic role-playing game, Baldur’s Gate and today we have news that an improved version for the iPad of Baldur’s Gate will release in the summer along with a follow-on due to launch later.
The iPad version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will support multiplayers and additional news is that it won’t cost more than $10. It is reported that Baldur’s Gate for iPad will have new content, a new party member, a new adventure and the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack. The other version for iPads that will be released later in the year is Baldur’s Gate 2 Shadows of Amn: Enhanced Edition.
News that the improved Baldur’s Gate for iPad will not cost more than $10 came in a phone interview with Kotaku. Beamdog developer’s COO Cameron Tofer, Tofer said, “Baldurs Gate is a pretty big game and we’re not cutting it down to size. There’s a boatload of content there, 80+ hours. But past ten dollars doesn’t make sense.” Kotaku also note that the upcoming port of Baldur’s Gate will apparently benefit from the capabilities of the touchscreen interface on the iPad and we’ll be hoping to hear much more about that at some point.
In further news we’ve just noticed a report on The Verge that says that Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition for the iPad is now also heading for a summer release rather than later in the year so that should please many avid gamers amongst you. It also appears that a Mac version may be on its way as Overhaul said more platforms for the game will be coming soon.
Are you waiting for Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition or Baldur’s Gate 2 Enhanced to come to the iPad platform? What is so appealing about this game?
