Update of Temple Run for Android fixes problems

When Temple Run for Android from Imangi Studios was finally released on March 27 we knew just how many of you were waiting for this smash-hit game to arrive on the Android platform. However we soon heard many complaints about glitches in the game or incompatibility and the good news today is that an update has now been issued, just a few days after the original release on Android.

The saga of Temple Run coming to Android had dragged on with several delays, leading to a huge amount of frustration with Android device owners eager to get their hands on the game after its smash-hit success on the iOS platform. When a release date of March 27 was finally announced many people were overjoyed but soon afterwards we received hundreds of comments from unhappy Android gamers, either because the game wasn’t compatible with their devices or because some of the more fortunate users who’d managed to at least download the game had found it slow-running or flawed.

A huge amount of complaints about the Android release of Temple Run also appeared on the official Temple Run Facebook page and it seems as though Imangi Studios must have been pretty swept off their feet by the waves of disappointment this caused. To that effect an update has now been swiftly released to try to combat some of the problems. Android Community informs that not only does the new update solve some of the issues with the game but it also makes Temple Run compatible with the Droid RAZR and Droid Bionic. The update has multiple bug fixes and Imangi Studios note on the ‘What’s New’ section of the update that they are working hard to iron out the glitches and are also working on adding more devices to those compatible. The creators of the game also thank people who’ve already made Temple Run for Android a huge success already, with over one million downloads already despite the problems.

Although this may not help all of you just yet, especially those of you with still-incompatible devices, we certainly hope this will help a good many of you.     :-)  Works GREAT on HTC Evo 3D w/dual core proc.
    🙁  However, Samsung Replenish (daughter’s phone) is still incompatible. It’s not nec. the Android OS version — hers is 2.2 — it seems the slower processor (512 MHz) is the issue. I think Imangi Studios designed the Android Temple Run for phones with 1GHz or better…

    I have an AT&T Avail and this game is still not compatible with my device. The app doesn’t even show up on my android market. Very disappointing.

    I’m furious! I have been waiting for this game since the day I got my android. This has been a big letdown to me because it is not compatible with my phone. I currently posses the samsung replenish and would love it if you could make an update for all samsungs because my friend with the samsung galaxy faces a similar problem.

    I like how Imangi Studios have dished out a much needed update in such a short time. but I would like to see more responsiveness from future updates. I still feel that the android version is much less snappier than its iOS counterpart.

    No where near as smooth as it is on iOS, I have a LG Optimus Black P970 running the latest update of  Android 2.3 and it is very jumpy but works really smooth on my siblings iPod Touch 3rd gen

    I dont get it.. I have Android 2.3.5 *Gingerbread* OS and it doesnt allows me to play the game and as I see in other sites the requirement is 2.1 or higher…!!

      Unless they port the original iOS code to the android app, there’s no way it will be compatible to your Galaxy Y or my Galaxy Ace. Galaxy Y, Galaxy Ace, iPhone 1st gen and iPhone 3G are using the ARM11 architecture yet the game is compatible with the old iPhones and not the newer ARM11 Galaxy Devices.

      For now, there’s nothing we can do but to replace our phones. Here’s a tip: If your phone can run Adobe flash player, your phone can also run Temple Run.

    I’ve lost my high scores twice because my battery died in the middle of a game and when I switched it back on and went back into the game the memory was wiped and I’d to start all over again!!

    I have Samsung Exhibit and the game was actually playing normally until one day it just started freezing up almost every 5 seconds. It’s really annoying and it forces me to lose each time XD I love the game but I am starting to hate it; hopefully you guys will be able to figure out and make a better update, thanks!

    I have a brand new galaxy 3, and it’s a big problem for me to play this game. It’s obviously ported directly from the iPhone game and hasn’t undergone Android compatiblity as the screen appears stretched in the “You lost/final score” screen and the main menu.

    It has a slow response (Although I would blame that on the phone itself, but I only had it for a week and it has god damn Quad Core processor) which feels overdelayed.
    And the Superspeed bug still exists (The one where you get the superspeed powerup midgame, and as you approach a corner it doesn’t turn and thus you end up falling).
