Motorola brings some new Xooms to the UK
Over a year ago now mobile phone manufacturer Motorola released its foray into the tablet PC market with the original Xoom device, and at the time of its release it won many plaudits from critics but some did question the price of the device. Today though we have news that Motorola brings some new Xooms to the UK with two new models.
The company has added two new models to its range of tablet PCs in the country with the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition, and according to an article on Mobile Today the Xoom 2 model features a 10.1-inch HD display running Android Honeycomb. The company has said the display has been sharpened but the edges have been softened to make the device more comfortable to use.
It is 100 grams lighter than the original Xoom and features a five megapixel camera on the rear with a 1.3 megapixel shooter on the front. Meanwhile the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has most of the same specs as the Xoom 2, but features an 8.2-inch display and a twenty percent improvement in graphics compared to the original model.
Price wise the Wi-Fi only version of the Xoom 2 Media Edition is priced from £299.99 going up to the most expensive model the Xoom 2 with Wi-Fi and 3G, which is priced at £449.99. Victoria McManus of Motorola Mobility UK said that tablet PCs are “becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road”.
McManus added that the company is excited about adding to the company’s range of tablet PCs available to consumers in the UK. Both the new models are available from today from retailer Carphone Warehouse. Will you consider one of the Motorola Xoom range?

Am I missing something here or just going mad? Wasn’t these “new”tablets already on sale in the UK anyway?!
