Many smartphones look pretty similar these days as the times of easily changing your handsets facia are long gone. Some devices such as the Nokia Lumia range come in a variety of colours allowing consumers to have something slightly different, but today we have news of a special edition pink Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX that you can bid on for charity.
This special edition pink RAZR MAXX is not available in retail stores and the original black version available to the general public is valued at around $649.99 unlocked. Perez Hilton has so far been the only person to get their hands on a special edition pink Droid RAZR MAXX, but that is about to change thanks to a charity auction.
To help the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, the Motorola Mobility Foundation has teamed up with Perez to offer one of these special custom made handsets to the highest bidder in the Songwriters Music Auction. The handset with its standout vibrant pink colour scheme along with its 4.3-inch touchscreen display will get people turning their heads every time you get the device out to use it.
There are up to 21 hours of talk time with the handset or you would be able to watch up to a maximum of eight movies back to back. All the proceeds from the bidding will benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation that is a charity that has been set up to restore instrumental music education in America’s public schools.
The charity was originally set up in 1997 and since then provided $48 million in new musical instruments for 1,800 public schools across the country. A Verizon Wireless service is not included with the handset, and additional shipping charges may apply depending on the location of the winning bidder. At the time of writing the bidding stands at $350 but there are over 13 days remaining for new bids.
