While many consumers are now choosing Android or the iPhone over RIMs BlackBerry, one feature that has been really loved on the platform is the BlackBerry Messenger service, but today we are looking at the rival Hookt Messenger application.
Looking through the BlackBerry App World for instant messaging applications users are met with a large number of options, which according to CrackBerry can range from those that work with Facebook, Google Talk, some that work across a number of platforms, and some that are strictly for BlackBerry.
One of the apps that work across multiple platforms is Hookt that has been around for a while now, and it has almost 3,000 reviews now. While many owners use and love BlackBerry Messenger it seems Hookt takes this to another level by providing users with extra features not found in BlackBerry Messenger.
These include stickers and the ability to send messages from your BlackBerry PlayBook or PC using the Hookt website. Other features include group chat for up to ten people, read indicators, sharing photos, BlackBerry Push Service, BBM integration, Inbox integration, Stickers allow the sending of dozens of cool graphics stickers, and works with both Wi-Fi and all mobile networks.
Some people have a number of devices across multiple platforms but unfortunately BBM isn’t available across all platforms. This is where Hookt can help you out and it has been designed in an easy and well laid out way, and it seems to be working well with hardly any issues with the actual service since it has been available to users. So if you need to often switch between devices and platforms, Hookt may be worth a look.
Have you used Hookt or do prefer something else?
