If you are one of the Android faithful over here in the United Kingdom that owns a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone on the Vodafone network you’ll be pleased to know that your wait for your Galaxy S2 to be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich has finally come to an end.
According to the guys over at The Inquirer, although the ISC update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 was set to go live on the 12th of this month via the dreaded Samsung Kies software and an over the air update, it was announced Thursday on the Vodafone forum that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 wouldn’t go ahead as planned.
However as from the 13th of the month Vodafone confirmed that the Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 update was available to download and install through Samsung Kies, whilst those that upgrade via over the air will still have to wait until tomorrow the 17th to gain the update.
According to Vodafone the delay in delivering Android Ice Cream Sandwich to the Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S2 was down to Samsung testing the update to make sure the highest level of the final software was made available.
The release of the ICS update to the Vodafone Galaxy S2 follows both Three and O2 delivering the update to their version of the Galaxy S2 earlier in the month, whilst unfortunately those that own the T-Mobile and Orange model are still left waiting, although Orange is expected to release the update later in the month, whilst T-Mobile are still remaining quite as to when their Galaxy S2 users will gain the Android 4.0 update.
