Instagram, the popular photo-sharing and editing service has been in the news of late. First we saw its arrival on the Android app platform after iOS users had had it to themselves for a while and then came news of the Facebook acquisition of Instagram, news that disconcerted many. Today we have news of a different photo app that might suit your needs and be just what you’re looking for, 645 PRO.
On the news of the Facebook acquisition it seemed many Instagram users were even closing their accounts and so you may be looking for a new service. Forget Instagram then and step forward the brand new 645 PRO for iPhone app developed by Michael Hardaker. This app is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 or later and the price is $2.99. This app is billed as “the photography professional’s iPhone camera” offering excellent control and superb image quality.
645 PRO is aimed at both professionals and serious amateur photographers and works the same way as a camera, with real time ISO and shutter-time reading and a live histogram. It can give you “developed RAW”-dRAW-TIFF files and is the only iPhone camera app to offer this. Quality JPEG’s of the type usually associated from a high-end camera also feature along with the choice to save “lossless” JPEG’s. There are 7 film modes spanning from the 1960s to modern day offering the capability of superb photographs.
Highlights from this app include intuitive handling, ultimate control, spot metering, low-light performance with Night Mode, interchangable bodies, interchangeable backs, essential information and more. You can download 645 PRO from this iTunes link or if you want to find out more, head to the 645 PRO support pages here. You can also see a video all about 645 PRO on the support page link.
It looks to us as though this app has a lot to offer photography enthusiasts for a very reasonable price but we’d like to hear your thoughts on this. If you download this app why not tell us what you think? Alternatively you may have already downloaded 645 PRO and could recommend it (or not) to our readers? Send your comments to let us know.
