Applications for the Windows Phone platform may not have the same choice seen with rivals Android and iOS, but the platform is now seeing more content with the recent addition of the Skype application. Today we have news of the Windows SkyDrive app 2.0 update that helps users manage storage of their content.
The official SkyDrive application was first released back in December, and now according to wpcentral the application has been updated to version 2.0, and brings with it some nice enhancements. While there doesn’t seem to be many new features following the update there are a few that have been noticed.
The update has seen some welcome improvements to the user interface that has been redone for the dialog and menu options, and the ability to select items in bulk for deletion or moving has been added, which many users will find as a great new tool.
Users will also be able to manage permissions for folders and files directly now that allows items to be shared and edited with others, and contacts can be chosen from the People Hub to share those files with. They will also get editing access and alert them that you have shared items, and this is a big deal for users who need to do online collaboration or want others to see something with little effort.
Meanwhile it is being reported by Engadget that Microsoft has done away with the 25GB of free storage that was once offered to new users for the SkyDrive app on Windows PCs, which has seen it drop to only 7GB now. Users are advised to manage their storage soon as the upgrade from the new 7GB limit to 25GB is a limited loyalty offer so get in quick to avoid the new limits.
