Some may say that quality is better than quantity but Android fans have a great range of smartphones to choose from with new hardware being released all the time, and today we have news of a possible release date for the HTC Droid Incredible 4G on Verizon.
According to an article on the Android Community via PhoneDog the Droid Incredible 4G will be landing on Verizon Wireless on the 10th of May, which doesn’t come to much of a surprise considering how much of the device has been seen recently. The date comes via anonymous sources so for now they have to be taken with the usual pinch of salt.
The upcoming handset from HTC looks to be a heavily modified version of the One S featuring a 4-inch QHD display with a plastic form factor and LTE connections. Other modifications include a removable battery cover and a replaceable battery, but it has a smaller 8GB on board memory that can be expanded via the microSD card slot.
Styling of the Droid Incredible 4G is along the lines of the previous models in the range, and it has a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, eight megapixel camera, and the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system with the Sense 4.0 overlay. The price of the handset remains a mystery but a price of $299 has been hinted at before.
Meanwhile before the handset gets any official launch date HTC have already put some accessories up for the handset, which as Phandroid are reporting includes an extended battery. The 2,150 mAh battery is priced at $35 along with the cover that is listed at $20, and is available now via online retailer HTCPedia.
The extended battery does add a bit of thickness to the device but the extra few hours of battery life in many users’ eyes is a small price to pay. The device will ship with a 1,700 mAh battery so the extended unit adds quite a bit of power to the Droid Incredible 4G.
