If you happen to be a resident of Korea or the Unites States that owns an LG device, you might like to know that those owners , as of tomorrow the 1st of May 2012, can take advantage of 50GB of free cloud storage by way of LG Cloud beta, LG’s new cloud strage service.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena, LG has now announced LG Cloud in beta and for the first 6-months users can gain 50GB of free storage when their install the required Android app onto their LG Android device, after that initial 6-months the free storage will fall to 5GB.
Non LG devices can also take advantage of LG Cloud although their storage will be capped at 2GB, which is the file size limit for uploading to LG Cloud.
According to the guys, the new service will transcode video uploads in real time for better bandwidth use, and will enable the streaming of 3D content created on the user’s LG device to an LG Television.
Currently there are dedicated apps for LG Cloud for Android 2.3 Gingerbread handsets and above, along with an app for Windows XP and Windows 7, however apparently the word is LG is also working on a web based portal along with some paid options similar to other cloud storage services.
