If you happen to own a Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone and have been experiencing the annoying volume problem that has been reported by numerous Windows Phone users, you just might like to know that Nokia has finally got round to releasing a new firmware for the Nokia Lumia 800 that fixes the problem.
According to the guys over at Mobile Tech World, the audio volume issue particularly made playing games on the Windows Phone annoying due to along with other oddities made a rather loud ringer volume the first second a call arrived.
But now Nokia has released the Firmware update 1600.2487.8107.12072, and has apparently already started rolling out to the Nokia Lumia 800 in some areas, and you can manually apply the update to your Nokia Lumia 800 by doing this…
Firstly it must be said that you do this at your own risk… first off download the PR 12 1600.2487.8107.12072 update via the link on the Mobile Tech World website, and then download the WPupdate tools from here.
Next unzip the Tools into a folder then copy the firmware to the same folder, and then plug in your handset and wait until Zune starts and then close it. Next run the Updater and press S or B, and your handset will reboot in download mode and update, but don’t unplug your device during the process.
And that should be it, other stuff in the Nokia Lumia 800 12072 update includes updated camera settings, an updated camera app with auto-detection of 50/60Hz, improved charger detection, and of course that volume bug fix.
