HTC PJ83110 is possibly another One XL smartphone
HTC has seen sales of it smartphones dropping in recent times as it loses out to the likes of the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy range of devices, but the company is looking to change this with the recent launch of the One series of handsets, and today we have news for the US market and a handset with the model number of HTC PJ83110, which is possibly another One XL smartphone.
In the US the version of the HTC One X is more accurately known as the XL for AT&T and according to Pocket Now arrived as the PJ83100, and at the beginning of March FCC documentation was seen with expected support for AT&T’s LTE bands. Now though paperwork for another HTC model has appeared that seems like it could be another regional variant for the same smartphone.
As the handset is being referred to as the PJ83110 it makes you think this could be another One XL model, but the reported band coverage doesn’t make it look like something that would be intended for release in the US, as it has 3G on 1900MHz instead of 850MHz. HTCs own website says it has two versions of the One XL that includes the AT&T model, and one for Australia and Asia.
Normally it would make sense for not seeing FCC test operations on LTE bands that are not used in the US, but there is something strange going on here. The other XL model is supposed to also support 3G on 850MHz, and you would expect the FCC to certify it for operation on this band if the handset is the model that is being talked about.
It seems that this is the first time that the model number PJ83110 has appeared anywhere, and hopefully as time goes on the details of the handset will become clearer. Do you like the look of the One range of handsets from HTC?
