Over in Japan they are getting their very own version of the HTC One S in the form of the HTC J smartphone, although the handset is a tad thicker than both the HTC One X and HTC One S, and we have a nice little hands on with the HTC J video below for your viewing consideration.
The HTC J hands on video footage comes our way courtesy of the guys over at The Verge, who were on hand at KDDI/au’s summer launch event, and managed to get a little hands on playtime with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone.
The Japanese HTC J offers a 4.3-inch qHD Pentile touch screen along with an 8 megapixel camera, packs a 1.5GHz dual core processor, runs on au’s WiMAX network, and swaps the usual HTC Sense 4.0 user interface for one that resembles Verizon’s HTC Rhyme, although still does have some of the Sense 4.0 features like the improved camera app.
Apparently the traditional clock design is transparent on the handset due to getting in the way of the wallpaper too much, as Japanese customers prefer having family portraits on their home screen. The smartphone is 10mm thick and also has a rounded glass front that apparently feels really nice in the hand.
Word is the HTC J will become available in white, black or red, and all versions will come with Beats Audio earphones, no word on just when the HTC J will become available or how much a price tag the device will command.
So with that said and done, all you need do now is head on down and hit that play button to check out the HTC J hands on footage…enjoy.
