Jailbreakers iPhone Blackberry 10 Octopus keyboard
If you are one of the iOS unfaithful out there that likes tinkering with their iPhone, it appears that developer Mario Hros has come up with a little jailbreak tweak that emulates the text input functionality of Research In Motion’s new BlackBerry 10 keyboard, and we have a little video of that BlackBerry 10 style keyboard for the iPhone for your viewing consideration below.
The BlackBerry 10 style keyboard for a jailbroken iPhone is called the Octopus keyboard, and the video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at iDownload Blog, and is a take of RIM’s new gesture based predictive text input for the iPhone.
The Octopus keyboard is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that is still in the early stages of development, but it does appear to be quite a good implementation of the BlackBerry 10 predictive gesture based keyboard for the iPhone, although obviously not yet perfect, but apparently the developer does have another week in his schedule to get the Octopus keyboard working how he wants it.
Currently, the Octopus keyboard auto-learns new rods as they are typed, should work for any input language with key input, and has a custom completion engine, whilst the developer wants to add before the tweak goes live, compatibility with popular tweaks such as SwipeSelection, better handling and display longer words, auto-capitalise word in a sentence, handle , . ! ect at the end of sentences, and avoid learning mistakes.
So, with that said I’ll simply let you head on down to hit that play button to check out the Octopus keyboard jailbreak tweak for iPhone, and feel free to let us know your opinions on the Octopus keyboard by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
