We are fast approaching the London 2012 Olympic Games that begin on July 27th and run through to August 12th, and today we have news of an Olympic 2012 special edition Samsung Galaxy Note that is available.
We have already heard about the new Samsung Galaxy S3 being the official handset of this year’s games, and now there is a special edition of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y smartphone according to Cnet. Both the handsets are being offered by O2 and feature a special Union Jack design on the back cover, and you even get the chance to win a trip to visit the Team GB and tickets to an Olympic event.
The handset will line up alongside the soon to be released Galaxy S3, which will be given to every athlete taking part in the games to pay for things by using the NFC capability at the compatible tills. The handsets large 5.3-inch screen will be perfect for watching all the events being streamed by the BBC to a number of devices including the Sony PlayStation 3.
If you purchase the Galaxy Note or Galaxy Y from O2 you will automatically be entered into the prize draw, and it includes the visit to the training camp of Team GB to see how their preparations are coming along. The pair of tickets up for grabs includes events such as football and volleyball. If you decide you want the white version of the Galaxy Note the device comes with a white Team GB lion cover instead.
The two special editions of the Samsung smartphones are available exclusively to carrier O2, but it would be surprising if other carriers didn’t offer other handsets in some pre Olympic marketing. Would you get one of these special edition handsets?
