Over the last few weeks we have been keeping you up to date with all the latest news surrounding the highly anticipated iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak, and today it seems that the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak release is close after some more news from Pod2g.
Yesterday we gave you the news of another jailbreak option in the form of the VulnDisco Mobile 1.7 tool, but unfortunately this is not your normal jailbreak as it was part of a commercial product that doesn’t exactly come cheap. Meanwhile an article over at iDownloadBlog is stating that a number of the jailbreak community that includes the likes of MuscleNerd, are currently in Amsterdam attending the Hack In The Box event.
Now hard working hacker Pod2g has updated the situation with the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak tool by posting on his Twitter account, and he announced that he has just added iPad 3,3 support to Absinthe 2.0. Pod2g continued by saying that the iPad 2, 4 is the only thing left to be added, but the actual device itself was needed.
He then requested that anyone that had an iPad 2,4 with the model numbers MC954 or MC989 to check in settings>general>about. With this news of only one more device left to be added to Absinthe 2.0, there is a good chance that the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak will arrive this week.
There is the possibility that the Chronic Dev Team and others may release it this coming Friday, during the Dream Team’s HITB speech. We recently told you about the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak info sheet as the jailbreaking community helps get jailbreaking fans ready for the upcoming release, which the guys have been working hard on for a while now for the benefit of a vast number of Apple iDevice users.
