Samsung Galaxy S3 big launch to 28 countries
Back at the beginning of the month Samsung unveiled their new flagship smartphone the Galaxy S III, which saw the device receiving record pre-orders for a number of third party resellers, and now the important day has arrived where the Samsung Galaxy S3 see’s its big launch in 28 countries.
The handset goes on sale for the first time today officially in what GSM Arena are reporting will be the biggest launch for a single product in Samsung’s history, and a simultaneous release in 28 countries around the world. Previously the device went on sale early over in Dubai, and retailers such as Amazon reporting they had received a huge response to the device and customers putting their cash down early to get hold of the device.
Samsung is looking to ramp the launch of the device up more in the next few months by getting the Galaxy S3 released in a total of 145 countries with 296 carriers by the end of July. There have been reports of excited Android fans queuing up outside retailers in London to get their pre-ordered handset early, as the handset is down to be launched tomorrow in the UK except for certain stores allowing customers to pick up their pre-ordered handset a day early.
The company has also launched a new chain of mobile retail stores that are called Samsung Mobile PIN, which have been placed at popular destinations in London, and a World Tour kicks off shortly in a number of countries that includes the likes of Australia, China, Korea, Japan, and the US.
There are reports though that some customers in the UK that have pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy 3 may see a delay in the handset reaching them, luckily though it seems the delay is only a short one with the handset still expected to start shipping in the coming days. Pre-ordered the 32gb in white with Vodafone, but told there is a delay of 2-4 weeks. Looks like I have to wait a little bit longer as I carry on using my two year old phone (Xperia X10).
Also been told by Vodafone have to wait 2-4 weeks!
Ordered 16GB pebble blue from Amazon UK – just been emailed to say it’s indefinitely delayed.
I rang Three network yesterday regarding my pebble blue SG3. They said it would definitely arrive tomorrow.
Pre-ordered mine on 4th of May
As above, call the network and kick off then they will promise to meet the original delivery date!

if i knew there is an delay at vodafone i might have gone to moewhere else.

Received “within 2-4 weeks” generic delay email from them on Monday evening this week.Not looking good. Â I imagine I’ll be waiting another week before I get mine. Â A bit gutted really. Â Although I’m annoyed at Vodafone for leaving it this late to let me know, the fault really lies with Samsung.
