GI Joe fans out there would have been disappointed to hear the news a few days ago from Paramount that the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation was being bumped from next month to March next year, but today we have some GI Joe movie based apps that may be of interest to you.
First up for users of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch is G.I. Joe Comics, which brings digital GI Joe comics to your mobile device. The application has more than two hundred comics with a number of free ones available, and includes brand new stories such as the ongoing G.I. Joe series, Rise of Cobra movie prequel and adaptation, Cobra, and Snake Eyes. There are also the classic G.I. Joe books from the 1980s, and to find out more and to download this free application head over to the App Store.
Next up again for iOS users is G.I. JOE: The Rise of cobra — basic training, which allows users to go thorough basic training and practice their hand to hand firing range skills to help against the increasing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization. The game is a free download and is available via the App Store for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later.
For Android users we have the GI Joe AR application that can be used to decode their GI Joe Action T-shirt, which is powered by Big PlayAR’s Augmented Apparel Technology. Once the application has been downloaded users aim it at their Action T-shirt and select any of the villains in the control panel, and then watch the 3D content and live video come out of the T-shirt. Head over to Google Play to find out more and to download.
Lastly for BlackBerry users we have GI Joe for you that see players take on thrilling assault missions in a feature packed game that is based on the blockbuster movie. There are three game modes with realistic action and side navigation for land combat, and top down operation for piloting the Howler as well as taking control of the MOBAT tank.
