Ever since Nokia revealed its 808 PureView handset to the world with its impressive camera, the handset has got a lot of consumers looking to get hold of the device when it is released, but today it seems there will be more waiting for Nokia 808 PureView at Clove UK.
Earlier this month we told you that the release date for the device had seemingly slipped from a date in April to a date at the beginning of next month, but now according to MyNokiaBlog the release date has slipped again until the middle of July in the UK. The online retailer Clove UK has been sending out emails to people that had pre-ordered the SIM free version of the device and saying they will have to wait until July to get their hands on the device.
Originally it was thought the device would be coming during May but the date was pushed back to the 4th of June, but this has slipped again. It is not known if the delay is only affecting Clove stock or it’s more widespread.
To recap the device features a 41 megapixel camera that has shown takes some impressive photos, but other than the camera the Nokia 808 PureView has little else to offer smartphone fans as it is powered by a 1.3 GHz single core processor.
There is also only 521MB of RAM and 16GB of on board storage that can be boosted by a further 32GB via a microSD card. Providing the juice to power that camera is a 1,440 mAh battery unit, but what may turn a lot of people off the device is the soon to be defunct Symbian operating system.
Nokia has confirmed that an unlocked version of the 808 PureView will be hitting the US sometime during the summer, and will offer support for AT&Ts 3G network. Do you have a Nokia 808 PureView on pre-order?
