Angry Birds team with Philadelphia Eagles
Everyone in the mobile space knows just how successful and popular the multi-platform mobile game Angry Birds has become, Angry Birds is probably the most famous game on iOS, and Android, and now Rovio is spreading their Angry Bird wings to enter the world of pro football by partnering the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to an article by the Wall Street Journal, Rovio and the Eagles have officially announced the partnership that will feature an Eagles centric Angry Birds game that is set to launch sometime in the fall, along with a marketing push that includes integration on local team TV shows, in stadium displays, social media initiatives and more.
In partnering the Philadelphia Eagles, Rovio general manager, Andrew Stalbow said the move is part of their ‘aggressive road map’ for growth that focuses on expanding the firm from a gaming company to an entertainment company.
Rovio has also teamed with Formula One for a mini game; however the Philadelphia Eagles is the first sports team to become an Angry Birds partner, and so Eagles fans can look forward to plenty of Angry Birds fun during the 2012 season.
